Carlow Tree

Location:                           VISUAL - Contemporary Art & The George Bernard Show Theatre, Old Dublin Road,

Project:                              Development, Manufacture, Supply and installation of Architectural Medusa tree

In 2009 Carlow Arts Centre Ltd., through Carlow Local Authorities Arts Office commissioned artist Eileen McDonagh to provide and install a work of sculpture for the Visual Centre for Contemporary Art and the George Bernard Shaw Theatre. Working closely with Eileen, Kent Stainless created the perfect accompaniment to this new architectural landmark for Carlow.  

Outline of the Project Requirements:

• Tapered stainless steel main column
• Individual branches, bends, twists and truns to ensure a natural look
• A two stage finish combining bead blasting and electropolishing
• Full installation in one full piece
